About the Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join an experienced R&D team working on performance-critical blockchain systems. You will take ownership of core backend components, optimize latency-sensitive processing flows, improve system efficiency and reliability, and contribute to the development of new blockchain infrastructure capabilities.

You will work with complex production systems, investigate performance bottlenecks, use data to evaluate engineering decisions, and design experiments to validate improvements. Your work will have a direct impact on the performance, scalability, and technical evolution of the platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance components for processing blockchain transaction data.
Profile and optimize latency-sensitive processing pipelines, identifying bottlenecks in computation, memory usage, and concurrent workloads.
Improve algorithms responsible for real-time transaction processing and decision-making.
Build and optimize concurrent data-processing systems for high throughput and low latency.
Develop and maintain integrations with blockchain and distributed network infrastructure.
Investigate production issues, performance bottlenecks, and unexpected system behavior.
Use production data to evaluate engineering changes and identify optimization opportunities.
Design and run controlled experiments to measure and validate system improvements.
Develop automated tests and safety mechanisms to prevent regressions and improve system stability.
Improve monitoring, telemetry, and observability across production systems.
Own technical changes from design and implementation through deployment and production validation.
Contribute to new protocol-level and blockchain infrastructure capabilities.

Required Competence and Skills:

7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong experience working with performance-critical, distributed, or real-time production systems.
Several years of commercial experience working with blockchain technologies.
Strong understanding of blockchain architecture, transaction processing, and decentralized systems.
Strong production experience with Rust or C++ engineers with the ability and motivation to transition to Rust may also be considered.
Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming, concurrency, profiling, and performance optimization.
Proven experience identifying and reducing latency or improving throughput in production systems.
Experience troubleshooting complex production behavior and performance issues.
Strong analytical skills and experience using data to evaluate engineering decisions.
Experience designing controlled experiments and validating performance improvements.
Strong engineering practices, including automated testing, monitoring, and safe production deployments.
Ability to reason about correctness, reliability, and security in complex systems.

Nice to Have:

Deeper knowledge of blockchain protocol internals.
Experience with Ethereum or other EVM-compatible ecosystems.
Experience with blockchain nodes, execution infrastructure, or protocol-level development.
Experience with smart contracts or DeFi products.
Experience with high-throughput or low-latency systems.
Familiarity with applied cryptography or secure computing technologies.
Background in optimization, quantitative systems, or algorithmic decision-making.
Contributions to blockchain infrastructure or relevant open-source projects.
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-native environments.
