About the Role:

We’re looking for a passionate Senior Backend (Python) Developer to help shape the future of an innovative get-paid-to platform from the ground up. As an early team member, you’ll have unprecedented influence on the product direction while working remotely with a Senior collaborative team. You’ll own the end-to-end development of Backend and tackle exciting technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build the Backend architecture from the ground up ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Take part in architecture decision-making, design and develop functional solutions, and proactively addressing challenges.
• Drive technical excellence and quality, taking ownership of technical decisions. 
• Thrive in a dynamic startup environment, where independence, adaptability, and speed are key.
• Ensure the application remains responsive and high-performing while maintaining scalability to accommodate a growing user base.

Required Competence and Skills:

• 6+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer working with Python
• Experience working with at least 2 Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, Flask, CherryPy, etc. 
• Experience working with gRPC and message queues 
• Experience with both relational and non-relational databases
• Experience with Redis and Docker 
• Experience with cloud solutions such as AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) or GCP 
• Experience with ORM and writing plain queries
• Experience with microservices architecture 
• Experience working with production environments
• Experience developing scalable systems serving a large user base
• Proven track record of working in a fast-paced startup environment
• Familiarity with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka 

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience working with OpenTelemetry, DataDog, OpenSearch, or similar tools 
• Experience with PyTest
