Who we are:
Adaptiq is a technology hub specializing in building, scaling, and supporting R&D teams for high-end, fast-growing product companies in a wide range of industries.
About the Product:
Our client delivers an autonomous workplace management platform that unifies digital employee experience and IT operations into a single, scalable solution. The platform combines real-time monitoring, automation, and proactive remediation to prevent issues before they impact productivity. It eliminates tool sprawl by consolidating multiple functions—such as endpoint telemetry, remote management, and performance analytics—into one powerful system. Deployed globally, it processes comprehensive device metrics (CPU, memory, disk, network, processes) at scale, handling high data throughput and complex multi-platform environments. The platform’s evolution involves modernizing legacy agents into a unified, cross-platform solution that can adapt to dynamic priorities and deliver reliable, secure operations.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced macOS Developer to own and enhance the core macOS agent within this autonomous management platform. In this senior role, you will join a domain-expert engineering team collaborating across multiple application and platform streams. You will drive the modernization of the agent into a single cross-platform solution, implement new data-collection and remote-management features, and troubleshoot production issues at scale. Your work will impact thousands of global users and shape the future architecture of a market-leading solution, offering significant autonomy, leadership, and the chance to solve challenging system-level problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the macOS agent using Swift and Objective-C.
- Implement new features for device telemetry, data collection, and remote management on macOS.
- Contribute to an agent modernization initiative to unify cross-platform functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, ensuring agent stability and performance.
- Collaborate with product management, QA, and other development teams to define and deliver requirements.
- Optimize performance and memory usage through profiling and low-level debugging.
- Integrate and maintain daemons, launch agents, privileged helpers, and interprocess communication components.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards for system-level components.
- Stay current with Apple technologies, frameworks, and best practices for macOS development.
Required Competence and Skills:
- 5+ years of professional macOS application development experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in Swift and strong working knowledge of Objective-C.
- Deep understanding of Apple’s core frameworks and APIs, including Cocoa, Foundation, Networking, Concurrency, and Security.
- Extensive experience with macOS system programming (daemons, launch agents, privileged helpers, IPC).
- Proven track record of performance optimization, profiling, and low-level debugging on macOS.
- Familiarity with Xcode build systems and CI/CD pipeline configuration.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a distributed, cross-functional team.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with .NET development and interoperability with native code.
- Familiarity with IT monitoring and management concepts.
- Knowledge of security best practices and secure coding techniques in macOS.
