About the Role:

As an Algorithm Engineer at NextSilicon, you will work on developing and optimizing algorithms for a pioneering general-purpose coprocessor architecture.

This role combines mathematical problem-solving, algorithm research, and hands-on software engineering. You will explore different approaches to complex computational problems, implement algorithms in production, and analyze application code and performance data to continuously improve their efficiency.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers and researchers, working on challenging problems in graph theory, clustering, and related areas while contributing directly to the development of advanced computing technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and optimize mathematical algorithms and computational solutions.
• Translate algorithmic research and innovative ideas into reliable production code.
• Explore and evaluate approaches in graph theory, clustering, and related computational fields.
• Analyze application code and performance data to identify opportunities for algorithm optimization.
• Investigate complex technical problems and develop practical, efficient solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate algorithms into the company’s computing architecture.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in algorithm performance, quality, and efficiency.

Required Competence and Skills:

• At least 2+ years of professional experience in algorithm development or software engineering, with strong algorithmic foundations and hands-on experience writing production-quality code. 
• Ph.D. or a strong Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven research abilities and demonstrated experience developing innovative technical solutions.
• Solid software engineering experience combined with strong algorithmic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with modern programming languages.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to approach complex computational challenges systematically.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within an engineering team.

Nice to Have:

• Strong knowledge of graph theory and graph algorithms.
• Experience with SAT solvers and satisfiability problems.
• Familiarity with LLVM infrastructure or code analysis.
• Experience with clustering algorithms and mathematical optimization.
• Experience translating research concepts into production-ready software.
